A Big Storm is coming to Cape Coral

So in an expected outcome the Cape Coral Brewing Company closed it doors.  Like a surprise afternoon shower the Big Storm announcement of taking over the location came though without prediction.cclog

Big Storm who currently has two brewing locations and taprooms in the Tampa Bay area announced it is planning to open a taproom and brewing facility by February 1 in the location at 839 Miramar St.

“We’re extremely excited to bring the Big Storm experience and our selection of unique and high-quality craft beers to Cape Coral and the rest of Southwest Florida,” said Big Storm co-owner L.J. Govoni.

The reputation of the Cape Coral Brewing Co. among the craft beer nerd crowd was not that great.  Most the beers were not memorable and didn’t seem to match their style like the flagship Gongoozler Kolsch.  The Tortoise Slobber which was a Chocolate Peanut Butter Brown Ale was probably the best that I came across there.

Then there was the issues of the large poorly laid out taproom that was most known for its meat raffles.  Hopefully the redesign of the space by Big Storm and the new beers will make this place what Cape Coral had hoped for years ago.  Here is to more beer and less raw meet!
